Rob and Christine of Swizzle Studio wish you a happy holiday and an unstoppable 2014!
Just before the actors hit the STRUTT runway, they are captured in full wearable art glory by photographer Brian Yungblut. Brian provides invaluable record of thousands of hours of work that shine for only a few minutes on show night. Below are photos of Swizzle Studio’s project, It Came from the Welland Canal.
You can see all of the wearable art here: http://www.yungblutphotography.com/Strutt2013/index.html
STRUTT, the epic wearable art extravaganza, is next Saturday, October 16. Christine and I worked for weeks on a walking tableau called “It Came From the Welland Canal”. The project grew so large we had to rent a cargo van to transport it to St. Catharines.
Part monster movie, part-environmental allegory, our project was inspired by Spanish fiestas’ gigantes y cabezudos. Our creations will share the custom-built runway with dozens of other wearable art delights, in an enormous factory building, accompanied by a live performance by music legends The Sadies. STRUTT is part fashion show, part loft party, all spectacle. You should definitely get a ticket.
