Last month Christine and I attended Krewe Kompressor, an “under the sea” themed fundraiser for the Niagara Artists Centre’s STRUTT event. I used a roll of foam rubber (left over from the wearable art project I built for STRUTT last year) to create a pair of sea creature costumes. The foam was a great material to work with, lightweight, expressive and easy to paint.
With masquerade, I favour a “one thing out of place” aesthetic. Christine wore a cute little skirt, but just happened to have huge lobster claws. I wore a tuxedo shirt, accented by an enormous octopus sitting upon my head.
