I am the volunteer graphic artist and web designer for the free neighbourhood festival. We had to go online again this year, but managed to attract over 30 performers with a combination of word-of-mouth and old fashioned postering!
This link will take you to the complete schedule, with links to all 34 online performances. There are two types of performance this year. WATCH ANYTIME performances are pre-recorded and can be enjoyed throughout the day. Check the schedule for details. LIVE performances are scheduled for specific times. Open Tuning, Toronto’s Free Music Festival, can’t come to the porches and laneways of Seaton Village this year due to COVID-19 precautions. But the festival is coming to your phones and computers.
Participating musicians will be posting their performance times using #Opentuning20. On June 6, search out the hashtag, then check out some amazing music.
Open Tuning is the biggest event of the year for the band I play with, Sore Boozers. We haven’t played together in months, and I miss my fellow musicians tons. I decided to record some songs that I would have brought to practice if things were normal. These videos will be posted on Facebook and Instagram tomorrow morning (June 6).
