Pizza School NYC is a unique business that I’ve worked with for ten years. In the past decade, the New York City cooking school has taught 50,000 students and made over 87,000 pizzas!

Collaborating with owners Mark and Jenny Bello, we have created a visual identity steeped in pop culture, take-out menus, and heavy metal.

To celebrate Pizza School NYC’s 10th anniversary, we have created T-shirts and some other neat merchandise for sale through the online store: www.pizzaschoolshop.com

NYC Bingo

We drove down to New York City for the Victoria Day weekend. Here’s a bingo card I worked on each morning to keep track of the great time we were having with our friends in the Big Apple. (click image to view large)

Wedding Cake Topper

Our friends Mark and Jenny got married last month in New York City. It was a charming little ceremony at Paulie Gee’s pizza parlour, attended by close friends and family, and a hurricane. When they asked Christine and I to make them a cake topper, we were excited about the creative possibilities. Mark and Jenny live in and run a pizza school (Pizza A Casa) in the Lower East Side. They love food and travel, and they adore each other.

We designed the topper as a two-sided object, and constructed it with painted foamcore and hand-sewn felt. It also features a disco ball.

The “Wedding Day” side of the topper shows Mark and Jenny in their wedding outfits, standing in front of a typical Lower East Side scene. There’s even the ubiquitous tagged Chinatown cube van, this one grafittied in honour of the happy couple.

The “Honeymoon” side shows Mark and Jenny in their vacation clothes, enjoying a picnic lunch on the Italian coast.
